I am studying for a Master's degree in Business Administration at the UiS because:
I am studying for a Master’s degree in Business Administration at the University of Stavanger Business School because Leadership in a Digital Economy is an interesting specialisation. I read about the research projects being conducted at the UiS, and this piqued my interest in getting to know more about knowledge production led by lecturers with strong research ties. Interesting research could provide me with great opportunities for professional development. In addition, I had heard a lot of nice things about Stavanger as a city and that it has an enviable student environment.
I chose Leadership in a Digital Economy as a specialisation because:
I primarily believe that the interaction between management, strategy and technology is exciting and useful in practical terms for making you competitive. In-depth knowledge in this field would provide me with the right tools to make the best business decisions and solve any challenges in the digital economy of the future.
This specialisation is allowing me to combine my analytical skills with my good communication and relationship-building qualities. I hope this combination will pave the way for working in exciting industries and academic fields.
This is what a typical day of study looks like for me:
A typical study day for me consists of a combination of theoretical preparatory work, lectures, working in study groups and socialising. Digital economy offers complex issues that we work together to solve.
Consequently we spend a lot of time on solving problems in teams and a considerable amount of my everyday studies is devoted to working in study groups in the library at the UiS. This creates the space for academic debates and innovation in order to find the best solutions. During the spring we were working in order to find out how best to use leadership and organisational change to create sustainable production and consumption.
Tell us about something you remember particularly well from your studies.
I especially remember the projects that I have been working on. For example, when I was involved in organising the "Leadership Challenge" and when I attended a webinar to promote the study programme for new students.

I would say that the study milieu at the UiS is inclusive and highly committed to learning. There are also many different student organisations that help to create this great study milieu, both academically and socially.
This is my dream job:
My dream job is a job that challenges me by allowing me to work on complex issues. It would be based on my professional expertise and allow me to develop academically in a great working environment. It is also important for me to be able to use both my analytical and my relationship-building skills.
