Advanced Clinical Midwifery - Part 2 (MJOP90)

Through the course, the student will achieve a significant degree of independence and the ability to think holistically and approach maternity care. The student will demonstrate their clinical skills, non-technical skills, and assessment abilities related to the midwife’s function and area of responsibility, both in normal and abnormal conditions in maternity care, the gynecological department, and the youth health clinic.

The course will contribute to meeting the quantitative and qualitative requirements for practice throughout the master’s program by further developing knowledge, documentation, and reflection on learning situations, as well as mastering clinical skills. The student will also prepare in writing for the expectation interview, mid-term, and final evaluation with an assessment of their own learning outcomes.

Content

In Advanced Clinical Midwifery Part 2, emphasis is placed on the student achieving a high degree of independence and holistic thinking. The student will demonstrate their clinical skills and non-technical assessment abilities, especially in relation to the midwife’s function and area of responsibility in dealing with normal and abnormal conditions. Exam

Form of assessment Weight Duration Marks Aid
Practice 1/1 14 Weeks Passed / Not Passed

To pass MJOP90, there is a requirement of 90% attendance in supervised practice, as well as having the practice assessed as passed according to the curriculum and the course’s assessment form. This includes the following:
• Quantitative clinical requirements must be documented continuously, with written documentation of self-assessment and reflection on learning situations.
• The student initiates, plans, conducts, and documents a simulation in clinical practice

If there is doubt about the approval of the practice, the student must receive written notification halfway through, and no later than three weeks before the end of the practice period. The notification must indicate what the student is not mastering and what requirements must be met to pass the practical studies. If the student, despite satisfactory study progress at the mid-term assessment, shows actions/behavior that clearly do not provide a basis for passing the practice, the student may still receive a failing grade even if a prior warning has not been given.
