Celebration speech from the Minister of Research and Higher Education, Oddmund Hoel, conferral of a new honorary doctorate, PhD ceremonies, and awards!
On Tuesday, 29th October, exactly 20 years after the King in Council decided to grant full university status to the former University College of Stavanger, we invite everyone to join us in celebrating at our annual ceremony!
We are honoured to welcome both the Minister of Research and Higher Education, Oddmund Hoel, who will deliver this year’s celebration speech, and Professor Robert C. Pianta, a distinguished scholar in early childhood education and psychology from the University of Virginia, who will be awarded our new honorary doctorate during the ceremony.
Sparebank 1 Sør-Norge and Lyse will present awards for innovation and research, and we will also present the Award for Education and Learning Environment.
The ceremony will include the conferral of diplomas to the doctoral candidates who have completed their PhDs since the last event. The festivities will be accompanied by performances from the Bjergsted Percussion Ensemble and the Stavanger Student Choir.
After the ceremony, we invite you to join us for canapés, cakes, coffee, and mingling in the foyer of the Kjølv Egeland hus. We look forward to welcoming you!
