For the fourth time, StartUp Booster has been organized by LevelUp – the student incubator at UiS. The incubator program has been open to all students at UiS interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. This semester, students with diverse academic backgrounds have explored their own ideas, fostering high engagement among participants. Over six weeks, participants have been guided through various aspects of entrepreneurial activities, with weekly sessions dedicated to diverse topics.
Through the StartUp Booster incubator program, students have delved into different aspects of entrepreneurship, including market analysis, development of business models, management of intellectual property rights, financing strategies, and effective sales techniques. We have had the privilege of hosting experts from various fields, including representatives from Skape, Innovation Norway, the Patent Office, Validé, and Hortsy Waldmann from 10X Agency.
The program concluded with Demo Day, where students pitched their business ideas to an external jury. This provided a valuable opportunity for students to receive feedback on their ideas and gain experience in pitching.
This initiative reflects our goal of promoting entrepreneurship and innovation among our students. Feedback from participants indicates a better understanding of the innovation ecosystem in the region, with students from different academic disciplines expressing interest in entrepreneurship.
Here are some quotes from participating students:
“it was a very interesting course. At first I was scared that one lesson would last 4 hours, but it’s worth it”
“I think it worked not only as a useful resource of information, but also as a motivational boost”
"I gained invaulable insights and skills thought the journey, and I even made my first pitch! Most importantly, I am pushing boundaries and creating something new together with other entrepreneurs!”
