IAESTE Stavanger

IAESTE is an international student organization exchanging students for technical work experience. We do that by sending Norwegian students abroad to work, and also receiving students from another country. In Norway we have approximately 130 students doing this, split on 6 local committees. In addition, we send our members on conferences in Norway and abroad. IAESTE gives you valuable experience and something to write on your resume. We’re looking for motivated students from all kind of studies! In the local committee, we arrange weekly meetings where local cases are discussed. Four times a year, meetings at a national level are arranged, which are both educational and social. In addition, members have a unique possibility to travel abroad and obtain international experience in organizational work by participating on international conferences. Furthermore, we’re often doing social activities as coffee-visits, cabin trips and international dinners. There exists a number of interesting and challenging tasks both locally and nationally. Planning and coordinating these tasks are the students’ responsibility and gives valuable experience. The responsibilities are organized through voluntary work, which all the members may apply for. It is possible to work with coordinating the work of getting jobs to international students, receiving interns, drift the computer systems, economics, marketing and IAESTE’s Career Fairs. The experience obtained from IAESTE comes in very handy when applying for jobs after graduating. Companies value organizational experience, and not just academic skills. Note: the main part of internal activity in IAESTE Stavanger and IAESTE Norway is done in Norwegian.
