Content

In this topic learning takes place in a professional environment outside the university, for example in a technology company or at a research institute or as part of a major project work. The student must find the appropriate workplace on their own. The course aims to give students practical experience and the opportunity to immerse themselves in selected issues related to practice. In cooperation with the student, workplace and lecturer, an agreement/contract and plan is deviced for how the internship and supervision is conducted. The evaluation will be made on the basis of a report from the student and a presentation. The report should contain a discussion of a specified issues related to business practices, as well as documentation on the work performed and certified timesheets.

Learning outcome

The course is a supplement to other topics, and when the student has completed the course, the following objectives will be achieved:

Knowledge: Increased insight into selected topics and issues and in working life practical challenges.Account for tasks and working methods in the current company

The student hands in a report (incl. signed time sheet) on her/his internship. This report is presented to the students and teachers at an agreed time and place.The course has a continuous assessment. All parts must be passed to obtain a final grade in the course. NOTE: According to Regulations relating to studies and examinations at the University of Stavanger section 3-10 point 2, a student has 2 attempts in this course, with the opportunity to apply for a 3rd attempt.

Course assessment

There must be an early dialogue between the course supervisor, the student union representative and the students. The purpose is feedback from the students for changes and adjustments in the course for the current semester.In addition, a digital subject evaluation must be carried out at least every three years.
