Oslo University Hospital (OUH) is Europe´s largest hospital trust, with more than 24.000 employees and the responsibility for specialist healthcare in the capital region of Norway, and the provision of certain areas of specialist care at a national level.

Oslo University Hospital (OUH) has strong and longstanding research activity in many areas of medicine and healthcare. Since 2023, OUH has been a partner in SHARE following an initiative of the Division of Prehospital Services (PRE) and the Division of Emergencies and Critical Care (AKU).

AKU has an extensive research portfolio, with eight research groups covering all branches of anesthesiology, intensive care medicine, and nursing. The research activity currently contains four fields of research:
- Cardiac arrest research and intensive care for the survivors
- Pain and symptoms including pain medicine research and multiple symptoms in patients and thei next of kin
- Traumatology including acute care, but also prevention and outcomes following trauma
- Anesthesiology, including patient safety, for example, prevention of complications such as postoperative delirium.

The first year as a partner in SHARE has been focused on mutual networking, establishing common ground for future projects and collaboration, and acquiring insight into each other’s organizations. However, there are two projects running as part of the collaboration between OUH and SHARE, both of which focus on prehospital services:
- Project development within the field of resilience in health care
- PhD project on individual and collective learning processes among providers of pre-hospital care
- PhD project on quality indicators related to patient safety in pre-hospital care.
- PhD projects on quality indicators related to patient safety in anesthesia, surgery and intensive care medicine.
- Project development within the field of resilience in health care
SHARE members from both UIS and OUH have throughout the year spent time getting to know each other through engaging in different activites such as partner seminars, SHARE meetings and writing seminars.
