This talk illustrates several ways that historians can utilize their expertise in various public settings. There will be examples from the activities of the Center for Public History, University of Houston; the National Council on Public History; Film Studies; Public Works History; History of Technology; Environmental Justice; Litigation Activities; and Media Presentations.

Martin V. Melosi (he/him) is Cullen professor Emeritus of History and Founding Director of the Center for Public History at the University of Houston. He is the author or editor of 22 books and more than 100 articles and book chapters.
