The Department of Mechanical and Structural Engineering and Materials Science at University of Stavanger is a member of an international consortium in the European Project “Lean” ERASMUS+ KA2.
The project aims at developing didactic materials for implementation of Lean manufacturing concepts in Engineering Design work focusing on the ‘training by doing and training on the go as effective approaches to lean manufacturing’.
The LEAN project is one of the 23 projects approved out of 276 applications. It aims at disseminating Lean Manufacturing (LM) knowledge via innovative approaches (e.g. gamification) as well as updating the existing training tools involving different education environments: high schools, VET centres, Universities and micro, small and large scale industrial organizations (i.e. both manufacturing and Oil & Gas industry).
The project will be implemented in two years, and managed by Centoform as leader partner of an international partnership made up of 9 members, which consists of 6 educational institutions and 3 industrial organizations.
