About me

Kristian H. Nielsen, an associate professor at the Centre for Science Studies, Aarhus University, specializes in the history of wind energy, focusing on techno-societal transitions. 

His work emphasizes the active participation of citizens and energy organizations in shaping energy landscapes. He also conducts research on the role of citizen science and science communication in fostering research and social transformations that support sustainability development goals (SDGs). Through his research, Nielsen aims to illuminate the interconnections between technology, society, and environmental sustainability.

In the Energy Lives! project, he coordinates and works on the case cluster dedicated to district heating. This segment particularly highlights the historical role of citizen engagement in the development of district heating systems, showcasing how community involvement has been crucial in evolving sustainable energy solutions.
