About me

Anna Åberg is a senior lecturer at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.

She is a historian of technology with a focus on energy and resource history, and narratives of science and technology in popular culture. Her research themes have spanned oil, natural gas and fusion research, through Swedish uranium import, deep sea- and space mining, and narratives of energy and the environment in popular culture. Her current research outside of Energy Lives! concerns Swedish oil history and Swedish Energy poverty, and is carried out in three projects funded by the Swedish Research Council, Swedish Energy Agency and the Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development (FORMAS).

Åberg is a Co-PI of Energy Lives!, managing the Chalmers project group. In Energy Lives!, she will focus on oil refineries in Sweden and their entanglement with citizens.
