Senior Scientist at Sintef in Trondheim, Sigurd S. Vildåsen, presents current research topics on circular economy. Both the Norwegian context and international context are covered. Vildåsen describes how the ongoing standardization work in the EU and the ISO system relates to innovation and circular business models. The presentation includes examples from collaborations between researchers and the business communities, highlighting dilemmas and the need for further research.

Sigurd S. Vildåsen is a Senior Scientist at Sintef Manufacturing Norway. He received his Ph.D. from NTNU in Trondheim in 2019 with a doctoral thesis entitled “Corporate Sustainability: Exploring a Case of Creating Value from Waste through a Transdisciplinary Methodology.”  Vildåsen specializes in strategic management for sustainable development, emphasizing the role of circular business models. He has 15 peer-reviewed articles published in international journals and international experience from ETH Zürich (Switzerland) and Utrecht University (the Netherlands).
