Liv Opdal is the main instrument teacher on cello. She is also employed as a cellist in the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra. Liv Opdal has her education from the Norwegian Academy of Music and studied with the cellist William Pleeth in London. She has been a solo cellist in the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra for many years and is now group leader at the same place. Liv Opdal is a Spellemann prize winner for the recording ''Illuminations'' and an active chamber musician at several festivals. She also plays and teaches baroque cello. Ilmari Tauno Mikael Hopkins is the main instrument teacher on cello. Ilmari Tauno Mikael Hopkins has been employed as a cellist in the Stavanger Symphony Orchestra since 2002. He has had a central role in Norwegian cultural life both as a musician and teacher. He began his training with Anatoly Nikitin at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory in Russia, and obtained his Postgraduate Diploma at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm.
