This position will be held by a student (intern) during summer break.
Context and environment
The main objective of this job position is to support the aims and objectives of the Subsea Robotics R&D Program.
Purposes
- To introduce the candidate to the concept of operations of emerging and existing subsea robotic technologies and to provide the opportunity to maintain the current operating model to evaluate data acquired from testing using a remotely operated vehicle.
- To provide data to support the theme of subsea resident vehicles as part of the Subsea Robotics R&D Project Roadmap.
Activities
- To devise, and perform, a series of experiments in both a controlled environment and in open water, using a remotely operated vehicle to acquire operational performance data.
- To maintain the existing model to enable an evaluation of subsea robotic technologies.

Report to: Subsea Robotics R&D Project Leader
Requirements to the applicant
Qualifications/Experience required
Experience of Python and Data Science.
Experience of defining experiments.
Experience of maintaining field logs and producing reports.
Knowledge of operating a remotely operated vehicle.
Leadership skills:
Foster a strong integrated safety culture and lead by example.
