About Exploring Leadership (eXL)

eXL is an inclusive meeting place where you can meet across disciplines and institutional boundaries.

Working life is typically characterised by increased levels of complexity, high pace of development and change, and a focus on solutions even when we don't always understand the problem. Examples of this are globalisation and digitalisation, acute and long-term crises, energy and environmental challenges, greater diversity, and the need for restructuring in the form of efficiency improvement and innovation. This means that we have to rethink organisation and leadership.

The research group eXploring Leadership (eXL) at the University of Stavanger is a forum aiming to facilitate an exciting diversity in leadership research and practice. eXL is an inclusive community space where people can meet across theoretical frameworks and institutional boundaries. An open national forum for transdisciplinary leadership research and practice that curiously and playfully explores how different approaches can contribute to developing new understandings and knowledge about leadership as a subject, as practice, and as a means of action.
