Learning outcome
The course supplements other courses in the programme, and after completing the course, students are expected to have the following knowledge, skills and competence:
Knowledge:
Students should have knowledge of
- how their professional competence can be applied in working life
- how to apply for a job, how to start a new business as well
- implementation of relevant tasks in business in collaboration with other employees or customers.
Skills:
Students should be able to
- Use professional knowledge that the study provides and apply in a real work situation
- Gain insight into how companies organize their work and relate professional questions to real and current situations in working life
- Reflect more consciously on one's own competence and discuss the use of professional competence in practice
General competence:
- Demonstrate independence in theoretical and creative professional work.
- Experience real application and employment processes in working life
- Write professional texts based on the needs of the employer
- Critically evaluate your own internship experience

• Report: The student must submit a critically reflective report about his/her practical work individually. Students also deliver a presentation mid-way through the position.
• Scope of work: The student is expected to spend a total of 250 - 300 working hours on the course. The student must submit a signed timesheet together with the report.
Students who do not pass can complete the internship at the next opportunity, normally the next time the internship is completed.

Practice
Practical training is compulsory. The student has to submit a certified timesheet in order to get the practical training approved. Practical training has to be approved in order to be able to submit a final report and receive assessment in the course.
There must be a formal contract between the practical training institution, the student and UiS. This must be signed and submitted to the course coordinator by September 1st.
