Jean Cocteau

As part of her doctoral project in artistic development work (singing), research fellow Héloïse Baldelli will hold an open rehearsal this afternoon, 18 December, at 5.30pm in Bjergsted terrace 8.

This is a free and low-key event where you get the opportunity to ask questions and give feedback during the rehearsal process.

Together with Friederike Wildschütz, she will work on Milhaud's song cycle "Trois poèmes de Jean Cocteau" and some parts of Auric's cycle "Huits poèmes de Jean Cocteau". You will receive the lyrics of the songs as well as the English translations.

Jean Cocteau (1889-1963) was a French poet, critic and multi-artist. He was one of the main figures of the avant-garde movements and influenced the work of many other artists. In particular he organized and promoted the group of young composers known as "Les six", to which both Milhaud and Auric belonged.
