Connecting in the Digital Community - A South African Perspective and future directions for Commitment and Online community citizenship behaviour on Facebook.

Abstract

In the vibrant landscape of South African digital communities, Prof Mia Bothma from the North-West University, South Africa, will delve into the realm of Customer Citizenship Behavior (CCB) on Facebook. While CCB has been extensively in retail, its dynamics within online communities—especially in developing regions—remain largely unexplored. This research aims to uncover the emotional and social drivers that promote commitment and foster active citizenship behaviour towards members and administrators. Join her in discussing her recent research and exploring future directions, including the interplay of brand commitment and sustainable initiatives across diverse online environments.
