Master students Syed Nazim, Rafael Akhmekenov, Daniel Lopez and Gurveer Singh walked away with 30,000 Norwegian kroner each in prize money. The award ceremony arranged by the Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering and the Department of Energy Resources took place before the master ceremony in Stavanger Forum 17th of June.

The awards are given to motivate students to innovate. This is the industry's way of showing that they value those students who go a little further to achieve good results. The award ceremony also gave the students the opportunity to meet representatives from Repsol, a company that might be their future employer.

"This is an important milestone, it marks the end of your time as master's students. Competitions like this encourage you to do your best," Grethe Foldnes from Repsol said.

She added that the competition was hard this year. The prizes were given to the two best master students in the study programmes Petroleum Engineering and Energy, Reservoir & Earth Sciences.
