The University of Strathclyde is a leading technological university based in the heart of Glasgow city centre, one of the UK's leading cultural, historical and scenic cities.

University of Strathclyde is one of 4 universities i Glasgow with more than 22 000 students. 9 % og the students are internationals. The university campus is in the heart of Glasgow, a lovely victorian town. Glasgow has more than 30 museums and galleries and a yearly jazzfestival.

Language requirements

English proficiency recommended at minimum B2 level for English (read upper-intermediate = 4 in English from "vgs" for Norwegian students). Please refer to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languanges for further information.

Students who do not meet the language requirements will be offered online language courses prior the exchange period.

Total number of exchange places

2 students per semester divided between master and bachelor level:

  • BA Mechanical Engineering (BA Maskine)
  • MA's Marine and Offshore Technology
  • MA's Structural and Mechnical Engineering

Tuition fee

Student doing exchange within Erasmus+ are exempted from tuition fees

Scholarship

In addition to loan and grants from Lånekassen , there is also an opportunity for an Erasmus+ international dimension grant. It fhere are sufficient funds available, students will be awarded such grants. Students who apply for an Erasmus+ international dimention grant will receive an answer approximately 3 weeks after the application deadline. How to find subjects

Kurstilbud

Exchange students will normally select classes/courses from levels 1 to 3: Level 1 classes are usually at an introductory level and may not require much previous knowledge or study in the subject.

Level 2 and 3 classes will normally require some previous study in the subject.

Level 4 classes are not usually available to exchange students unless they have significant background in the subject and meet the prerequisites for the class.

60 Strathclyde credits = 30 ECTS credits = 30 Norwegian study points

Accommodation

Strathclyde University is not able to guarantee accomodation to all students coming on exchange. You need to apply through the housing application portal.
