Exchange through the north2north network

UArctic's student exchange programme north2north gives students at the Faculty of Science and Technology the opportunity to study in different parts of the USA, Canada and Europe.

Through the study programme north2north, students at the Faculty of Science and Technology can apply for grants to travel on exchange to the following study sites (countries outside Europe are prioritized).

Guidance

It is important that you contact the study consultant for your study program to find out whether the university you are interested in is relevant for you and your field of study. A prerequisite for exchange is that the studies abroad can be approved as part of your study programme. Outbound exchange at UiS

Application

You apply for an exchange to north2north partners via the ordinary application form (Søknadsweb) within the ordinary study abroad deadlines. Application deadline is 1st  February for the Autumn semester and 1st September for the Spring semester .

Not all partner universities in the network are included as agreements with UiS in “Søknadsweb” the online application form for study abroad/exchange. If you cannot find the relevant n2n learning institution  in the "drop-down menu" in the application form, you must enter the university name manually under "other exchange agreements". Write the name of the desired partner institution under “comments”. If  case you want more than one n2n options, you must state the priority.

Scholarship

  • Semester stay (priority).
  • NOK 8,000 per month. (with exemption from payment of school fees).
  • NOK 12,000 per month. (without exemption from school fees).
  • Some universities offer tuition fee waivers to n2n students. Please note that other fees may still apply. Students applying for a tuition fee waiver place must make a note about this in the letter of motivation.

Documentation when applying

After the application deadline of 1st  February/ 1st September, you will be asked to deliver a letter of motivation to UArtic. Letter of motivation
