The author and the economist discuss life, love, and the finances of single people.
In Kamilla Danielsen's debut novel "Diskomus på venteværelset", we meet Eivor (34), who is swiping on Tinder in search of someone to share her life and expenses with.
Singledom used to be enjoyable for Eivor. But ever since her friends started settling down, buying houses, and having children, it hasn't been as fun. The apartment she bought two years ago has turned into a waiting room, and her frustration that Rema 1000 only sells fish in family-sized packs is steadily growing.
Danielsen's novel sheds light on current issues such as declining fertility, loneliness, microeconomics, the housing market, life, and, most importantly, love.
The researcher who will be discussing all this is Ingeborg Foldøy Solli, Associate Professor of Economics at the University of Stavanger.
Host: David Sviland, Events Manager at the University Library.
The event is part of the Kapittel Festival, September 18-22, and Forskningsdagene, September 19-29.
