SPACT (Stavanger Particle, Astroparticle and Cosmology Theory) is a research group in theoretical physics at the University of Stavanger (UiS).
The group consists (2025) of 8 permanent senior scientists and roughly the same number of postdocs and PhD-students, and is part of the UiS Department of Mathematics and Physics (IMF).
The research activities of the group range from observations and signal analysis of gravitational waves through modified gravity theories and string theory to analytic and numerical computations in quantum field theory in and out of equilibrium.
SPACT researchers are members of the LIGO collaboration, the LISA consortium and have close collaboration with the theory group at CERN.
SPACT is a member of, and coordinates, the national research network NPACT (Norwegian PACT).
SPACT is supported by the UiS through an ISP grant.
