Researcher mobility 2024

Building and maintaining an extensive network with researchers worldwide that are in the forefront of their field is one of the core activities in the SHARE Centre. Traveling and meeting new and old friends provides the researchers with great possibilities to exchange insights and ideas.

Mobility and internationalisation efforts mostly consist of SHARE researchers traveling abroad, as well as the SHARE Centre acting as host for incoming visitors. Several of the visitors are staying as a part of their contribution to or in expert panels and seminars, attendance at conferences, and adjunct professorships. During the stay of incoming visitors, the guests are provided with an office space in the SHARE location and integrated as a part of the team of colleagues. All visitors are asked to hold a guest lecture to enable knowledge sharing, as well as attend all other SHARE activities during their stay. Several of the researchers at the Centre are involved in different outings during the visitors stays to enable the visitor to enjoy and experience the beautiful surroundings in the Norwegian and Stavanger region. Several visitors have as a result been invited to nature walks, Christmas markets, family dinners and restaurant visits as a part of their stay. Sharing experiences as well as knowledge and ideas has been an essential part of building and maintain longstanding and strong international relationships that has resulted in the co-writing and partnerships of articles as well as research proposals and projects.
