About me
I am a PhD Candidate affiliated with the INTERACT research project.
After working several years as a teacher in upper secondary school (Grade 11-13) and as co-principal at a combined primary and secondary school (Grade 1-10), I started my doctorate at the Norwegian Centre for Learning Environment and Behavioural Research in Education.
My research
My research is on how classroom interactions support students' development of metacognition and how the learning environment facilitates self-regulated learning. The research is linked to upper secondary schools and examine how the curriculum's principles for learning are integrated into teaching practice.
I am a certified observer in Classroom Assessment Scoring System-Secondary (CLASS-S) manual from Teachstone.
Academic background
My academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in German Language and Literature, and a Master of Arts degree in German Languages, both from the University of Bergen. The master thesis examined the use of learning strategies in German language learning among upper secondary students. The findings were published in Acta Didactica Norge (Gausland and Haukås, 2011).
Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from University of Bergen.
My academic background includes master's level courses in "Leadership and Change Management in Schools" (BI Norwegian Business School in Stavanger).
