Dr. Merkebu Z. Degefa is Associate Professor in Electric Power Systems at University of Stavanger, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Norway.

Dr. Merkebu Z. Degefa received the M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering, in 2010, and the Ph.D. degree in power systems and high-voltage engineering from Aalto University, Espoo, Finland, in 2015.

Until September 2023, Dr. Merkebu Z. Degefa has been Research Scientist at SINTEF Energy Research in Trondheim, Norway. He has been working on and involved in proposal development and execution of multiple EU and Research council research projects in the area of advance operations of power distribution systems, laboratory-based testing, the development of ancillary services, and load and flexibility modeling.
