At UiS, the University Board is the highest governing body. The Rector holds the highest academic and administrative responsibility. The academic activities at UiS are organised into six faculties and several national research and competence centres, in addition to the Archaeological Museum.

About the organisation

The University Board is the highest governing body at UiS. The Rector holds the highest scientific and administrative responsibility.

The academic activities at UiS are organised into six faculties, in addition to the Archaeological Museum. Each of these units is divided into departments and divisions. There are also several research centres and national research and competence centres affiliated with UiS.

In addition, the University of Stavanger collaborates with R&D centres, knowledge clusters, and networks.

UiS-EVU is the university's unit for continuing and further education.

Staff and students collaborate closely with the wider community in an internationally oriented and innovative region.
