Together with Wallaga University in Ethiopia, UiS is part of the education project INDMEET (Institutional Network for Design and Manufacturing Education & Training). Now the first PhD candidate from Ethiopia has completed their degrees.
INDMEET is a six-year partnership project between the Faculty of Science and Technology at UiS and two universities in Ethiopia. The project started summer 2022.
"Wallaga University is pleased to announce the successful public defence of two PhD candidates on January 3, 2025," the university reports.
One of them, the PhD candiadate Naol Dessalegn Dejene has been part of the INDMEET programme.
"The dual degree programme between Wallaga University and the University of Stavanger, supported by the INDMEET project, highlights the institution’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and advancing research with real-world applications."
The other candidate, Tekalign Lemma Woldasilassie, has been supervised by Hirpa Lemu from UiS. Wallaga University expresses sincere gratitude to supervisor Prof. Hirpa G. Lemu from UiS for his guidance.
Special appreciation is also extended to the INDMEET project for its support in fostering international academic collaboration.
